 The main function of this site is to supply a free platform for users in the large field of materials analysis (with a focus on electron microscopy). Information in the field has been scattered around through mail list, email communication, web posts, blogs, personal pages, institute web sites, etc. It will be ideal to centralize those valuable information so that the information can be achieved, shared, and accessible in a common interface. This the main idea to form this website. The name "emfocal" reflects this function: A focal point of all EM community. Community members can collaborate to create information database through forum, books, articles, image gallery, FAQ.
